KaWe HiLight LED H-800

Professional LED Headlight with Excellent Colour Rendering for Medical Examinations

The KaWe HiLight LED H-800 is a professional medical headlight designed for users who require bright, homogeneous and colour-accurate illumination combined with a high degree of freedom of movement.

The current HiLight LED H-800 uses a neutral-white high-performance LED. Compared with the previous cool-white LED, KaWe has placed particular emphasis on improving colour rendering and the natural perception of tissue structures.

With a colour temperature of approximately 4,000 K, a CRI of 93 and particularly strong reproduction of red, yellow and green tones, the H-800 is well suited to medical applications where accurate colour perception is as important as illumination intensity.

High-Performance LED with 4,000 K

Neutral-white illumination for natural visual perception

A key feature of the current HiLight LED H-800 is its neutral-white high-performance LED with approximately 4,000 K.

This colour temperature produces a natural-looking light without the pronounced bluish appearance associated with some cool-white LED systems.

For medical examinations, this is an important advantage: tissue and structures should not simply appear bright, but their subtle colour differences should remain clearly recognisable.

CRI 93

Excellent colour rendering for diagnostic applications

The KaWe HiLight LED H-800 achieves a Colour Rendering Index of CRI 93.

Particularly noteworthy are the values for individual colour ranges:

  • R9 – red rendering: > 94
  • R10 – yellow rendering: > 94
  • R11 – green rendering: > 94

The strong R9 red rendering is particularly relevant for medical applications, where subtle differences in the appearance of tissue can be important.

This makes the H-800 an interesting choice for professionals who prioritise colour differentiation and natural tissue visualisation, rather than simply selecting a headlight according to maximum lux output.

13,000 Lux

Balanced illumination for diagnostic applications

The HiLight LED H-800 provides an illumination intensity of approximately 13,000 lux at a working distance of 20 cm.

Rather than focusing exclusively on extremely high light output, the H-800 combines homogeneous illumination, excellent colour rendering, adjustable brightness and a variable light field.

Adjustable Light Field

Precise adjustment with an iris diaphragm

The HiLight LED H-800 features a continuously adjustable light field using an iris diaphragm.

This allows the illuminated area to be adapted to the individual examination.

A smaller light field concentrates the illumination on a precisely defined area, while a larger field provides a broader overview.

This flexibility is particularly useful when working at different distances or when switching between different examination areas.

Five Brightness Levels

Adjust the illumination to the examination

The brightness of the H-800 can be adjusted in five levels.

This means the user does not have to work permanently at maximum illumination intensity.

The light output can be adapted to the examination situation – for example, to reduce distracting reflections from highly reflective surfaces or to conserve battery power when maximum output is unnecessary.

The combination of adjustable brightness and variable light field gives the user considerably more control than a simple headlight with fixed illumination characteristics.

Two Battery Options

Headband battery or belt battery

KaWe offers two different power supply concepts for the HiLight LED H-800:

Rechargeable battery for the headband

or

Rechargeable belt battery with connecting cable

Both use lithium-ion technology, and the batteries can be replaced using the practical clip/plug system.

This allows the user to decide whether the battery should be carried directly on the headband or whether some of the weight should be transferred to the belt.

Long Battery Life

Depending on the selected brightness level

Battery operating time depends considerably on the selected brightness level.

KaWe specifies approximately:

Headband battery → 5–20 hours

Belt battery → 6–24 hours

The charging time is approximately 3 hours.

This makes the H-800 suitable for prolonged professional use, while the adjustable brightness levels allow battery capacity to be used according to the requirements of the examination.

Approx. 260 g without Battery

Designed for extended use

The HiLight LED H-800 weighs approximately 260 g without the rechargeable battery.

With the headband battery, the complete system weighs approximately 390 g.

The headband is designed to provide stable and comfortable positioning during professional use. Its forehead padding can also be replaced – a useful detail when the system is used regularly in a clinical or practice environment.

Compatible with Binocular Loupes

Illumination and magnification in one system

An important advantage of the KaWe HiLight LED H-800 is the possibility of attaching a compatible binocular loupe to the system.

This means that the H-800 can be used either as:

a standalone medical headlight

or as

a medical headlight combined with binocular magnification.

For our shop structure, these applications should remain clearly separated:

Medical Headlights → KaWe HiLight LED H-800

and for the corresponding combination systems:

Loupes with Headlight Kits → KaWe HiLight LED H-800 + Binocular Loupes

This makes it easier for customers to distinguish between a professional headlight and a complete magnification-and-illumination system.

Particularly Suitable for ENT and Dentistry

When accurate colour perception matters

The H-800 is particularly interesting for applications such as ENT and dentistry, where reliable illumination and accurate perception of tissue colours are important.

The key advantage is not simply its 13,000-lux output.

The combination of 4,000 K neutral-white light, CRI 93 and R9 > 94 makes the H-800 especially interesting when subtle colour differences and tissue structures need to remain clearly recognisable.

This gives the H-800 a distinctly diagnostic character rather than positioning it simply as the brightest possible headlight.

KaWe HiLight LED H-800 or HEINE ML4 LED?

Two professional headlights with different priorities

Both models are professional medical headlights, but their technical concepts and positioning are different.

The HEINE ML4 LED focuses on very high illumination performance with its typical 90,000 lux and is designed for particularly demanding applications.

The KaWe HiLight LED H-800, with approximately 13,000 lux at 20 cm, takes a different approach. Its strengths lie particularly in neutral-white 4,000 K illumination, CRI 93, excellent red colour rendering, adjustable brightness and a variable light field.

The positioning within our range is therefore clear:

HEINE ML4 LED → premium high-performance headlight with very high illumination output

KaWe HiLight LED H-800 → professional diagnostic headlight with a strong focus on colour rendering, flexibility and an attractive price-performance ratio

This allows both systems to address different professional requirements without positioning one negatively against the other.
